Might seem pretty mundane or low key to most, but I am over the moon with my new strat.
I have a long-standing love of OW with rosewood thanks to Wayne’s World. I also have an aversion to truss rod access on the headstock. Purely aesthetic, and I know it’s kinda douche-baggy.
I recently got a vintera modified, which played and sounded fantastic, but I realised that I actually prefer 7.25 and vintage frets on fender instruments. At the time I would have preferred a Japanese squier anyway, but they weren’t any about.
So I saw this a couple of weeks ago on here, and was very pleased to receive it in short time. Thanks to
@Bidley for fast postage, and ace packaging. It plays as well as any fender I’ve had, and feels fantastic. Sound wise, it’s fairly muddy with gain. The vintera knocked the socks off this soundwise, but both sounded similar unplugged, and felt similarly resonant. So I think some electrics replacements will be in order.

I had an 86 MIJ strat was a lovely thing.
Happy belated NGD.
By any chance is the scratchplate a newer one? It's an 8 - screw 50s style plate, but the guitar is the '62 version (they did both).
i don’t think so. I’ve seen other RW boarded e series (model st-362) with the 8 screw plate. I don’t know without checking if the maple boarded squiers (st-357) were single ply or not.
These werent intended to be accurate reissues (like the JVs were), but we’re influenced by the 57 and 62 reissues.
