Quite the design choice! Still, I assume their 'Custom Shop' (where new designs can be crowd-funded) has helped them to get pretty good at matching supply with likely demand.

As an F5-style mandolin owner, I quite like those.
They also remind me of Pete Cosey's guitar from Miles Davis' very heavy early-mid 70s jazz lineup, which is another good thing!

The other day they were giving the lapsteel away for free if you bought any other 2-pickup model. Presumably they want to get them out there so they can harvest reviews/forum chatter etc.

One of my favourite guitarists in fact. Nearly bought one of these guitars a while back when they did them before, look very cool indeed
