Royal Mail made more money out of this tin than Monty.

Yes, I came to a similar conclusion regarding warming the wax with a hairdryer! Applying a thick layer and leaving it made no sense to me. You have to get in to the pores of the wood somehow.
Applying a thick layer and leaving it makes perfect sense to the Monty's sales team.
I guess the tin has enough in it to cover most peoples guitar collections, or this thread wouldn't still be going.

I doubt they are getting many repeat buyers on a product like this even if people do apply it heavily
Apologies for adding a cynical note to the Monty's love-in.  ;)

Yep gonna give this a go and will use the toothbrush hairdryer process.

Once you've got the wood colour your after my assumption would be not to use montypresso again but use the normal food instead? Otherwise you might get a darker board than desired?

I wouldn’t worry about it. I think the amount of darkening it can do is limited.

In terms of prep before applying, give the tin a lick of the hairdryer to soften it up.

Yeah I'm guessing a board will only go so dark.

So how long does the stuff last visually.  People that have used it long term how has the fade been?
