Low friction/mobile string trees and hard tail instruments

I have been particularly impressed with the dynaguide string tree. With its bucket handle design it pivots on (its very low friction) axis of rotation, eliminates friction with the strings and keeps my Strat in tune better than any other string tree I have ever used.

I wonder however - with a Hardtail instrument is the design of the string tree perhaps a little less critical? Surely the strings do move when we bend notes, but then they only return to the resting point. They sort of don’t go ‘beyond’ that - like they would do with the depression of a tremolo.

i’d be most interested to hear your opinions.
