Yup, I have one of the old style Direct Drive's. I blow hot and cold with it but at it's best it's very good indeed.

BTW, we were all amazed to hear at a 'show and tell' that Timmyo organised some time ago in Swindon, that his Digitech hardwire CM-2 sounded remarkably similar.

I had a Barber LTD for a while.  It was very well made but I found it pretty boring.

Direct Drive. Could probably do it with a Gain Changer (that can seemingly do anything), but I've not played one for long enough. Barber makes some great pedals.

Howeverrr, if those kind of tones are your bag, Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret is the one to beat IMO. Sounds great for rhythm. Stick a treble booster in front for leads. Winner.

Never tried them but I hear they have a razor-sharp tone...

    I have a problem, don't I? >:D<

Have you ever tried the full size one. Is the new noticably better with the attack and bright switch? Also, is it any quieter?

I've owned a lot of Barbers... and I've never yet found one that didn't sound great.

The Gain Changer is a superb, and relatively cheap pedal. Always sounded great live for me...

The Half Gainer is the one I miss most. Would love to snare another one.

Buy with confidence - all of the Barber range are special !
