Hi,

Last year sometime I reported some problems with the tap tempo behaviour of the delays on the Boss GT-100. I wanted to enquire as to whether this has been fixed in the latest firmware?

I did a bunch of sound examples of the GT-100 compared to the Boss DD7. You can hear in the examples below that the GT-100 delays are a lot more pitchy, clicky, and overall poorer sounding versus the DD7. If it wasn't for this issue, I would be using the GT-100 in 4-cable method with my real guitar amp. But as it stands, it isn't really suitable for live performance because of this.

The sound examples:

Cheers!

Seriously... that's some bullshit right there. I don't know if it is an automated process, but it's just pathetic support really.

At least you got a reply. Last technical inquiry I sent to a company was not replied to - and I check my junk mail.

That GT100 is a bit poor, isn't it?  I like the DD-7, use one too.

    Interesting demo.

GT100 has a lot of promise. Of all of the cheaper floorboard units, it's the best in its class. But it has a few niggling irritations that put me off it.

I e-mailed Mesa's British distributor with a technical query a few years ago and got no response whatsoever.

Apart from their excellent ability to double the price of the product they represent, it's hard to see any reason why they exist....

No reply when I e-mailed Hughes and Kettner for a Duotone schematic.

Framus make theirs available on their website, which is very helpful. (Take note H&K).

Personally I prefer the Zoom 9.2tt

Dont get me wrong, I think all multi effects are the devils work but the Zoom seems the least evil to use and it generally has a nicer sound than the boss units.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I loved my G9.2tt. If it had an external relay control jack, I'd be all over it.
