This reminder was it through the post or was it an email. Reason I’m asking is I had a tax reminder from the DVLA for my car, lots of correct details, yearly amount etc etc, looked very legitimate, except for the fact I knew my tax wasn’t up until the 01/06 but the reminder was dated for the 06/01. Like I said very convincing looking dug into the headers and lo and behold it wasn’t legitimate at all. Maybe something to be conscious of if it was via email. Forwarded it on to gchq or ccshq or whoever the .gov thing goes to.
