I still can’t work it out....I’m looking at the shure SM7B which seems very cheap compared to anywhere else...so...am I paying an import duty or not ?

    It may (or may not) include shipping, so check if that is extra and add that + VAT.
    The Thomann UK price will exclude VAT, so add 20%.
    If any of those fees aren't paid up-front then the courier will pay them on your behalf and charge a fee (+VAT), so add £14.40 (eg. assuming a £12 flat fee, plus £2.40 VAT - some couriers charge a percentage).
    If it's not manufactured in the EU then duty will be due, so add 2% to the above total.

    eg. £100 with free shipping = £100 (ticket price) + £20 (20% VAT) + £14.40 (courier fees) + £2.70 (2% duty) = £137.10

    (Hope my maths is correct!)
