  • For me, these are the only ones that matter, all by our man Joe...

1 - Surfing With The Alien. Completely blew my mind when I heard it as a kid.

2 - Why. It just sounds so damn cool.

3 - The Souls of Distortion. The track itself is pretty average, but the solo...wow.

  • So many to choose from but my contribution (and not in order):
    1) Eric Johnson - cliffs of dover
    2) Steve Vai - For the love of god
    3) Guthrie Govan - Wonderful slippery thing.

Just realised these are all about widdly but you can at least hum them!

  • Can I just pick 3 whole Mogwai albums instead? Most of them would do, maybe Come On Die Young, The Hawk Is Howling, the soundtrack for Les Revenants... is that cheating? Either way, Mogwai absolutely boss it.

Lots of choices.  Which ones do I turn to most often?

    1. Metallica, "Orion"
    2. SRV, "Lenny" live at El Mocambo
    3. Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, "Having an Average Weekend"

But Khruangbin's whole catalogue puts a guy at ease, that's for sure.
