Never actually used it but heard good comments about it - What puts me of is that it only appears to work for about 20 cleans then you need another one - Fine if you have one guitar, so maybe use it once or twice a year, but on my work bench it would be a new cloth every 2 or 3 weeks or so

I'm not in to wire wool as to big a hassle to mask of the pick ups all the time

Plus Stew Mac is just over a £10 + shipping etc - Amazon around £27 - Thomann around £28/9 after fees etc - anyone else have a good source for it - Just tempted to try it as an alternative to what I normally use etc

I use it and it works a treat. I reckon one sheet will do 15 to 20 fretboards, unless they've made it bigger than when I bought mine. It's a great solution for me as one sheet will last a couple of years!
Strings Direct do it for £20 and it's £18 here

I think I paid £15 18 months ago so it has clearly gone up a lot lately.

I’ve used it and found it to be very good. Haven’t bought any in a while but when I did I bought it direct from the maker, guitar tech for Rush amongst others, friendly guy.

I use it as well and love it - smells great!  Lasts me ages, I cut it into ittle squares. It's amazing how black the cloth gets when you use it.

Yeah, as above it works well. I keep a couple of packets on hand as well as some micromesh. Both work nicely but neither will keep going forever

Thanks for the info - So how many sheets do you get in 1 packet ?

Maybe look into Miracle Cloth as it's a bit cheaper? Looks very similar to me.

I've started using it a bit lately. It's certainly less messy than wire wool, although I found it benefits from an extra pass with a standard cloth to bring out the best result

I've used silver Duraglit for decades and a tin will over one year - Just thought something else might be easier/more preferable to use - But had 1st class results with Duraglit so why change - Might try some

I was going to say, I thought there was some generic cleaning product which is basically the same as Gorgomyte, but I couldn't remember what it was.  I think it's been discussed before.

I use the cheaper equivalent; Miracle Cloth. It's great stuff.
I bought a whole bunch of them for £1 each off ebay but they seem to have gone up in price since then.
    Still cheaper than Gorgomyte.

to subtle - fine if the frets are clean and only need a polish - But I get many used guitars come into stock with 'filthy' frets and the PW is no use at all for such crossled up manky dirty frets

Likewise! I’ve had one cloth for about 7 years!

Do you remove the strings before cleaning/polishing the frets??
