I’m using DMXIS to control our lighting rig, and changing lighting patches from the MFC midi board which controls my Axe-FX II. Axe-FX is on midi channel 1. DMXIS is on channel 16.
The MFC is configured so that when I change patch it sends an Axe-FX patch change message on channel 1, and a DMXIS patch change on channel 16. I currently have two tap tempo buttons on my board: One for the Axe-FX (msg 14 on channel 1) and one for DMXIS (msg 110 on channel 16). All well and good. It has worked perfectly for years.
However I now need to consolidate on a single tap tempo button which drives both devices. The MFC can send multiple messages for a program change, but only one for a tap tempo button. Any ideas how I do this? I’m presuming the answer might mean adding a separate midi device between MFC and Axe-FX which translates midi messages, or even has it’s own tap tempo button.

The MFC only sends one message for tap tempo. I’ve tested it with both internal and external buttons.
Something I haven’t tried yet is converting the Axe-fx an MFC to use channel 16. It might work, but will mean the DMXIS will ave to deal with all the other messages.
