I get what you're saying, but isn't there a huge distinction between "having plenty of money being a bonus" and being rich equating to a "much more fun and eventful life"? Also, is it not an assumption that Piers is indeed experiencing the latter statement. Are we really sure he has a better life just because he has more money? Probably not, just as much as other rich people have troubled lives.

I don't disagree that having more money brings a sense of security, but having more of it doesn't necessarily mean that life becomes increasingly better. If the only way to a meaningful life is being rich and living extravagantly, then the fundamental and more significant aspects of living are quashed – you will never be satisfied with what you have. And if ever that fortune you have disappears, then what? ... With the greatest respect, I don't think it's me who is being conned here.

Does he even merit the title journalist? Based on his recent output he appears to be one of the new breed of opinion hosts. He has much more in common with Tucker Carlson than with Jon Snow; and like Carlson he spouts self important, 'I am the story' style bollocks.

Yeah. He was doorstepped by reporters yesterday, and said more or less word-for-word "The woke crowd think they've cancelled me, but they haven't, I'll be back". I didn't realise anybody was taking credit for his voluntary walk-off but he seems to think they are.

Also, as far as I understood it, the questions that caused him to storm off weren't even politically charged. He was being asked about his friendship with Megan, which obviously has a tumultuous history, and he didn't want to answer them. For some reason he's turned it into a left/right cultural thing. I've seen some grasping at straws in my time but his blatant agenda to stoke the culture war has never been more feeble. Hence the poorly orchestrated meme.

As far as I could see he had a hissy fit because an inoffensive bloke said some inoffensive things calling him out for his behaviour, and he couldn't handle it.

Sadly he will be back.
