It's luscious.

It's one of the guitars that kicked me off on a guitar buying and selling craze about 5 years ago. Since then I've got through about 200 guitars and I think it might be time to stop. I mean, slow down.

This isn't the same one though. I only bought it a couple of weeks ago, because I desperately wanted one again. I've now convinced myself that I want a Jet, or something similar, or an amp. Or something, so this can go, I think, as I would like something that's a bit smaller now.

It's unmarked and is in fabulous condition - it's a 2019 model, with paperwork, case etc.

The neck's lovely  - a bugbear of mine with Gretsches - the Vintage Select necks feel different, and this is lovely and sleek.

As usual with me, not keen on posting, but mindful of current regulations, am happy to discuss or to wait until the 29th, when I think we can meet and frolic with gay abandon in a deserted clearing under the moonlit stars, or something like that.

I'm asking £1995  £1895 £1750 or this lovely green machine - bank transfer preferred. Send me a message if you're interested, and we can chat. I have more pics!

Cheers

I've spent ages looking to make sure I found something I don't like, I can't agree with lamps being on the floor - that's all I've got.

If I had £1 for every time I heard  that....

    I'd be penniless.  :)

Yeah, it's a tough one that. There's not much room there between that and the TV, and a table just looks cramped. The other side, there's double doors, so the wall space is a bit limited. It does need a bit of light there though. Why on earth am I explaining all this?

As far as possible trades or p/x is concerned, something along the lines of a Jet to give me that Gretsch thing still, or something hollow with Bigsby, P90, etc. No harm in chatting.

That’s lovely. I’m worried buying it would open the floodgates and cause me to get through 200 more in 5 years (!) but still... tempting.

A little bump for the Jolly Green Gretsch - no trades though now, thanks as I managed to buy a guitar and an amp at the weekend. This 'cutting down' isn't going all that well, if I'm honest.

And - the Gretsch sounds superb through the new amp as well. :#

    Wow, wow, wow!

I am sorely tempted but that would be the 3rd Gretsch . . . must stop looking!

@notanon - I'm also sorely tempted, which sort of defeats the object of a 'for sale' ad.

And @brooom - thanks, that's appreciated. It's got to be better than my dress sense at least.

The chap that I bought this from is a mental health specialist, which immediately made me wary for obvious reasons.  He's a lovely chap - an absolute gent -  and we've kept in touch since. We had a discussion about what drives the need for gear acquisition, and a lot of it made sense - childhood experiences, upbringing, voids in lives, etc, and it all seemed pretty logical. Food for thought, and I'd thought about seeing about getting locked up, but haven't got round to it yet.

Anyway, he contacted me to see about the possibility of selling it back to him.  In the end he didn't have it, and steered himself round to a Jet, which is what made him sell the Country Club in the first place. Now he would like to buy a couple of pedals from me.

    And he's an expert.

@DB1 ; I really don't know why I open your FS threads....all that happens is another emotional collapse as I see another guitar I want but can't afford!! I don't think you've ever sold a guitar I didn't want. That looks lovely!

A common acquaintance recently hooked me up with a guy who collects guitars because he thought I d like to meet him.

Turned out he is a psychiatrist. He sent me a photo of 10-12 strats and said these are the “ones that are out of the case in the living room”

    .. no cure
