NBD: New bike day!

2006 Triumph 1050 Speed Triple.

It’s here! I’ve got it on an optimate charger at the moment as they’d not delivered it with the alarm disarmed and drained the new battery  still, starts and runs lovely, has upgraded progressive springs up front and upgraded Nitron race shock at the rear. Just getting used to having an alarm on one of my bikes for the first time ever. WARNING: don’t turn on the ignition without disarming the alarm first! It’s very loud when it’s sat in your home!

New chain and sprockets and new Avon Storm 3D AV66 tyres, might swap them for Pilot road 4’s though.

All in all, very happy!

Oh, and I had to order a new leather because my old one has “shrunk” these past couple of years! 

All five days before my birfdee!

I’ve always liked the look of these Triumphs.  Congratulations.  I hope you get a ton of enjoyment out of it.

On the subject of alarms.....I had one on my first bike.  Complete PITA.  No intention of ever having another bike alarm.

@poopot thanks mucker, it’s amazing what can happen if you rid yourself of life sucking leeches! A possible ride out soon to the new local Triumph dealership for a brew and chat, can’t be no harm in slowly trying to get my foot in the door either.

I've got a spare side stand puck if you want it, might spread the weight on the floor a bit.

Excellent. This could only be better if you casually let slip that the indoor shots are in your 10th floor flat and there's no lift.

Thank you for the kind offer, I do have one but forgot to put it under the stand in my excitement. (And possible fear of that infernal alarm!)

Nice one!

They look incredible in black and still cool now. My old man has a 2010 SE model that he bought new. It’s got something like 35k miles on it now and he still loves it and is out on it all the time.

I’ve always wanted one but never got to it. Yet.

Might be a bum clencher with them Avon Storm tyres, apart from being new even when scrubbed in they have a tendency to spin the rear wheel up rather than bite and wheelie when giving it a handful. That was a guy testing the tyres on a triple too.

Thank you, no track days for me. I have the A272 on my doorstep.
