Name that bone!

What's Hot

Dug this up in my back garden today when lifting some turf. I've been here nearly 20 years and it isn't mine!
Any bone experts know what it could be from?

I haven't seen a bone like that since all them folks died mysteriously and there was all that nonsense about a witch and a curse.
Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.

It’s the hip bone of a young leopard which had one leg shorter than the other and a bow leg. It also had a slight calcium deficiency at one point in its life.

That hadn't even crossed my mind. I can only imagine that that would stink to high heaven.

Is it the hip bone connected to the back bone?

Has the look of a tibia (knee) joint. Difficult to get scale (I'm not a forensic pathologist) but maybe someone buried a pet dog/genetically modified hamster?

Could be large dog. Could be goat. Could be smaller horse.

Looks a bit like the proximal end of an ulnar with that condyle but not human.
Then again, in my first year I spent ages with a prosection of an elbow thinking it was a knee so that's probably why I'm safer away from sharp objects.

I’d be a bit disturbed by it, just incase it was once a person. I’d move house if I found that.

The elbow end of one of the bones in your forearm that's on the small finger side.
But that would be the human equivalent.  I'm guessing that's a dog.

Our house was built in 2003. When they dug the footings they found bones.

The archaeologists confirmed it was half a horse.

    Yeah - half.
