Astrophotography. What can I do with what I have?

Before embarking on spending money what can I do with what I have.
I have a fairly decent Camera stand.
A canon 50D APS DSLR
A 50mm F1.8 prime
A 24-104L F/4
A Laptop
Photoshop

Assuming a clear night in SE London that is.

Bugger all, you live in London, far too much light pollution, even on a clear night the ambient light will drown out everything.

Ideally you want to go to somewhere that is Dark Green or Blue. Black if you are that lucky.

You could do plenty with most of it. I used to have a 50D and shot the night sky with it quite often.

What you are lacking is a fast wide lens. The 50mm is fast, but too narrow for untracked photography.

If you can find yourself an inexpensive used lens with an aperture of f/2.8 or wider, and 18mm or lower focal length, then you'll be able to get plenty done. On my Fuji camera I used a 14mm f/2.8, which was pricey, but you can get similar lenses for Canon mount that are much cheaper, especially used.

I really just want to practice at the moment and of course due to covid I can't get to Dartmoor. (Which is my eventual plan anyway).
Having watched a really good tutorial
Looks like I need some stacking software.
I can use the EOS software as a intervalometer.
