Thrilled to see a Red Legged Partridge strutting round the garden this morning, never seen one before and certainly not in our garden!

What a handsome little bird

French Partridge......The "Frenchmen" are by far the more common in UK .
Great looking birds and fast fliers.......our surroundings hold Partridge very well .....in the summer months we often have 20 or more on the roof of the house at roosting time ....noisy devils

You don't have to eat everything you know? How could you eat such a cute little thing like that?

I'm having lamb chops for tea

I skin and casserole them. Its easier that plucking, and revenge for the damage they do to my vegetable patch.

Last time I met a partridge was at roughly 120mph on the East Coast Main Line, just outside Peterborough.  Felt the shock through the whole vehicle.

When we stopped there was a perfect cartoon cut out of the bird in the fibreglass cab front.  The pancaked creature made identification fairly straightforward.
