    Thanks for the reminder.

My cursory research into the subject revealed that there had been no firm decision on either the extent of the CAZ or when it would come into force.

COVID travel restrictions have temporarily reduced city centre air pollution levels sufficiently to avoid penalty fines for 2020. Resumption of normal traffic this Summer is likely to bring the CAZ back into play eventually.

    CAZ UPDATE:
A bill will be read in Parliament this Autumn. The scheme is scheduled to come into force in the Summer of 2022.

My 2.0ltr 170bhp 4X4 Diesel particulate scattering wagon would attract a daily charge of £8.
    Be seeing you.

I think it's currently in the mid length grass awaiting post covid political impetus (unlike Bath who found some impetus)

Forgot about this.  Put me down as interested, date depending.  Also @brocco - @onlyonebradders is now back in Bristol permanently and would be up for helping out on drums.

As we now have 12 names down, lets kick off the track discussion (suggest we start by proposing two tracks each)

I can't remember what I said last time.

    Maybe
Keep Your Hands To Yourself - Georgia Satellites - In A  (Nice and simple 12 bar)
I Wish - Stevie Wonder - I'd suggest D, but OK with the original key of Eb

I was assuming someone else will suggest Superstition in E, so I didn't want to waste my vote on that one.

    It's not a competition.

Do we have a singer or drummer? Happy to go with what suits any singers. I can't sing.

@onlyonebradders is a drummer and @mrkb plays guitar, drums and sings (there may be some others amongst us).

We may not yet have a dedicated vox or bass player?

    Would a dissolute one do?

Eb is for the benefit of the horn section and the keyboardist. Are either of these likely to attend the event?  ;)

True. But I guess we need to check what keys and songs suit those who offer to sing. Ultimately I'll go with whatever songs and keys the singers are comfortable singing.

    Don't look at me. I can't sing :)

Hi Brocco, I'm up for this, date dependant of cause. I wasn't on the forum until last year and when I joined someone did invite me to last years. Not too far over the bridge for me. I can bring either guitar or bass, but not both and can sing a bit.

Can you fill in a bit more on start/end times how much we need to contribute etc.

    Song choices

    If I'm on bass
    Badge - Cream
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic - The Police

    If I'm on guitar
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic - The Police
Everybody Want's to Rule the World - Tears for Fears

What you need to bring depends on how things are organised in the main performance room. In the interests of time saving and logistical simplicity, there might have to be a certain amount of amplifier and pedalboard sharing. Thus, you might get away with bringing two instruments and zero amplification. (Unless you travel by railway.)

It tends to be the lot of bassists at these gatherings to have to learn and perform music chosen by other participants.

Thanks Funkfingers, certainly is easier if I don't need to hump amps about. In that case I could bring both 6 and 4 string instruments. But I'm happy to bring one with amp if required.
