Hi all,
Looking for some tips from morning star midi box users please.
I am about to buy a shiny new MC8 and a midi box from
@ThorpyFX website for my now all midi board and think this will be the most powerful and neat option. MC8 set up next to table top board with midi out into the midibox underneath the board.
The only thing that I can't figure out is where to get correct trs/midi cables that go into 3.5mm ports in the midibox.
Ideally no adaptors or weak points or extra bits. Just 3.5mm TRS into 1/4 inch right angle TRS (to go into 1/4 chase bliss and micrcosm and some others. One also has 3.5mm midi hole) I did see a Morningstar post lke a FAQ pointing to some options but I can't find it at the moment.
Did see some nice braided boutique versions but think were Canadian?
Something like this would get you to go. TRS to adaptor to midibox but then you would have all these dangling off.

Like this one
Then a right angle plug adaptor like this? So the straight 1/4 doesn't get in the way into the pedals themselves.

Thanks @ThorpyFX
What is hard is finding the 3.5mm trs for the Morningstar midibox one end and the right angle 1/4 inch trs for chase bliss and others on the other end in one reasonably sized non giant cable.
I have spoken to @loadedforbearaudio ;;;and Jon quickly replied and said he could make some like this which would be lovely and neat and no doubt be great quality cables.

Other wise I just use a right angle trs cable to go into pedal and then this adaptor on the other end which Morningstar have recommended somewhere on the internet but you end with a load of underboard danglers.

Or alternatively like how Thorpy said with that long trs cable with with the right angle adaptor I posted above.
Anybody using these together or separately as I would be interested in any tips for my journey ahead. Seems to be many ways to program/skin this midi cat.

Plan is to use the 4 ports in the back of the mc8 for expression x 2 ,HX stomp and have a spare.
what's not clear to me is the MC8 can manage 16 pedals but only 5 outs (4 x 1/4 and 1 midi)... so do I daisy chain the ones that use normal midi maybe and get a 1/4 splitter if i have more than 4 1/4 pedals?
I got my bliss factory changing settings and turning on and off tonight after having the wrong omniport selected for 30 minutes. Very impressed with myself but the software is easy to navigate and responsive and the Morningstar forum saved me a few times. Not sure i will get it to be controlling all 12 pedals at one time but I can see how it can be done which is very exciting. Also very excited to explore the ramping options.
