1. Gibson Melody Maker DC 1964

I bought it from @jimmyguitar a couple of months ago but I do not get used to the neck. It sounds amazing and it looks really coo due to the lacquer checking, the hot sounding single coil and the great two-tone finish.

It's all original apart from one pickguard screw and the truss cover which should be 1 ply I believe. Harness looks untouched and there are no breaks or repairs. Original croc case.

According to @jimmyguitar ;;;; "It sounds every bit as good as any 50's Jr (I've owned a few) and it's an affordable way in to the vintage world. Superb playability, original frets are fine"

As him, I am Asking for £2000 but feel free to offer close to that.

I have also used his pictures as they were great.

2. Selling original Gibson es295 from 1953 which I recently bought in ATB guitars.

They still have the pictures, the price and a very accurate description for you to check:

https://www.atbguitars.com/store/product/1953-gibson-es-295-td-ohsc-1953es29gt/

Removed from sale as it has been sold through Reverb.

It plays and sounds fantastic but can't justify this expense as I am a mere amateur player. It also includes the original lifton Case !

Description copied from ATB Guitars:

" It’s not very often we come across an ES-295 with its original gold finish in such nice a condition as this. Very pretty guitars but their Achilles heel has always been the tendency of that lovely gold finish to flake and wear away at the drop of a hat, or the stroke of a sweaty left hand palm. The back of the neck and where the right forearm rests being particularly vulnerable areas.

Not so with this one. If you have a look at the many photos on our gallery page, you will find probably one of the nicest examples you will see of an all original finish on a 50’s ES-295. This one is original everywhere else too, the only thing that has been done to it is a perfect and recent re-fret carried out by one of the most expensive places to get a re-fret at and yes, they have done a great job.

The reason this one is not in to the five figure territory is due to a very professionally repaired side crack on the upper side (see photos) This again was carried out by the same place that did the refret and was done to the highest standard at we were told, a cost of some £820. It is solid and is a good a job as you can hope for but obviously it is there. At least it is not a headstock or neck repair.

Guitar itself plays beautifully well and been expertly setup with a nice low action and with the combination of that chunky 1953 neck profile, it is a joy to zip up and down the fingerboard. Both original P-90’s are nice, balanced and strong and if you have been reading our write ups for some time you will know we have a real soft spot for the combination of P-90’s on a 50’s Gibson archtop.

This lovely guitar not only has the warmth that can satisfy a seasoned jazzer but also the bite to get a rockabilly crowd rolling. You should come down, plug it in to our 1963 Bassman and hear the results for yourselves. Bring your Elvis songbook if you like too!

Included with this is a superb Lifton brown and pink case that just looks so right with the guitar, in fact the guitar as a whole looks, just so right in our opinion and compared to the flakey finished and worn neck examples you mostly see out there, this one is a true breath of fresh air…"
