Who's got a nice home setup then? 

I've done a few revisions since finishing the build last year. Mainly the new Drums, and an upgrade to computer and workstation. 




I've also changed the bass amp since taking these pics ...

Recording setup.

New live setup.  Helix controls VoiceLive 2 and SY-300 (both mounted in lower rack case) and XR-18 (upper case) via MIDI.  Helix pulls up tracks on Cantabile, running on laptop, using MIDI over USB.  The idea is that the racks can be tucked away 'off stage' for small gigs.

Sorry--short circuit, spent all day yesterday trying to get the cd to work, and then looking at hacking in an aux. Got both tape decks working fine.
Forgot how good these things sound, not bad for a 31 year old machine.

31 year old cassette belts don't last long, I'll be going back in.
The Monster Magnet tape got chewed up, but did sound glorious, and the Powerman 5000 on the other side was helping me check the stereo mix was good, happy days.
Gave up with the CD, think the laser is bad, but it has a good sound for radio 3, despite the playlist at the moment.
I have some belts ordered, and I think I will be doing some cassette recording in the near future.
Can't beat tape, the sound of the early 90's.

It's frightening how few cables are visible in these shots. I have an amp, pedalboard, Torpedo Captor & a Focusrite Scarlett and in four square feet it looks like a wrecked schooner's rigging. Meanwhile you have a Tardis and there are a couple of cables snaking quietly away in the corner!

The secret is multicore.

Also I have a Dante network so the 3 sides of the studio are mostly connected together with ethernet cables.

@octatonic is there a lot of acoustic treatment behind the listening position in that room? Have you managed to get the low end reasonably flat?

I have a bit, not enough but once I’m done with my Mmus I’ll be redesigning the room and doing it properly.
