I remember the "Gang of Four" of which she was a founder.  A true Liberal.

I don’t know lots about her but a prominent figure in the Gang of Four days and capable of being both reasonable and radical in her later QT appearances.
    RIP.

Yep. She was the real deal.  A loss.

Need more politicians cut from the same cloth.

She came across as more sincere and genuine than any of the slimy gits around today.

Really liked her, always had the capacity to understand other peoples' views, something no longer prized in politics as it gets ever more ferociously tribal.

A friend was waiting for a bus near Westminster and Williams spotted her and went out of her way to let her know the service wasn't running that day.  It seems that the private citizen was as nice as the public persona, so often not the case.

I really enjoyed her mother's book, Testament of Youth.  There was a wonderful TV dramatisation of it as well.  A good example of generous, civilised values being passed from one generation to the next.  I know life's not as simple as good people beget good people, far from it, but this was one case where it worked as you'd hope.

I always thought she spoke a lot of good sense on Question Time.

That generation of politicians seemed to have more about them than today's equivalents.  Maybe it's just like coppers looking younger as we get older, but I suspect it's more than that.

A genuinely caring, considerate individual that rightly & consistently placed public service above any personal gain or political advancement.
Sadly they don't seem to make them like that any more. RIP
