I don't know if any of you guys local to me in Essex knew John Hannon, but I found out yesterday that he died this week.
I knew him from No Recording Studio, I worked on a couple of my friend's albums there; but I believe he was also pretty well known from various bands around here too.
Every time I met John he brightened my day: he was a fantastic producer & engineer, and always had a new idea or suggestion, even when it was patently clear that we weren't playing music he would ever choose to listen to.
The world is a little bit less kind & gentle without him. Rest easy, lovely man.
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/
