No more than £2k, ideally.

It might be tight, prices have gone daft in the last 12 months. I bought a used one around 4 yrs ago for £1650 part exchanged against it against a new Martin hd28 in January 2020 and got £1800 for it and I instantly missed it. In June 2020 I bought an Eastman t59v from Peach, lovely guitar but decided to return it for a refund. I thought the build quality wasn’t that good and would regret not buying a Gibson. In August 2020 I bought a used Custom shop 59 historic 335 from the little guitar shop in Birmingham. I had to up my budget but its a superb guitar that I will keep for a very long time and will probably never lose what I paid for it.

For that budget find a Heritage 535. Ive got one and had several and I’d say for that price point I’d wager it will be a better guitar than a Gibson option.
