Only had half an hour so far.

I feel the Pharaoh side is slightly different to the stand alone I had. Maybe this is a newer version.

BAT sorted the massive volume jump between germ/si. There's still a small jump in neutral but nothing like the earlier Pharaoh and I want to say it's a little darker overall except the none mode has a more focused low mid Iommi peak.

This is my first time using the Black Forest though I'm familiar with the CSOD circuit. It is just beyond awesome. The problem being that it sounds so good as both an overdrive and a fuzz that I could easily use two of them.

Yep, the two stack together really well. Neither of them have so much gain that it turns into a useless mush.

I'm using a Jackson Ampworks Newcastle 30. It's more of a favourite for american praise and worship players than fuzzy riffers but it's just a lovely clean Voxy pedal platform.

nice man. Sounds like a good purchase.

i looked at that LSTR on eBay...to be honest, if you bought the pedal from Mark himself, it wouldn't cost you much more than the one listed on eBay. Every time I have bought from him, his charged me about 10-15 for postage and marked it up as a gift, so paid no taxes either.

@ThePrettyDamned if you like Qotsa then have you heard Masters of Reality?

Probably Homme's biggest influence. Rhe last 3 Kyuss and the early Qotsa albums were produced by Chris Goss and the vocals now are hugely based on Goss.

Doom for people to check out.

Dream Death. The first sludge band - think celtic frost jamming sabbath.
Pilgrim - us doom band we toured with. Killer

    The Wounded Kings. Just brilliant.
Count Raven - classic swedish doom from the late 80s/early 90s

    I have not, until now.

Pretty cool stuff. Definitely need to indulge in my doom side more often.

That first Masters of Reality album was one of the first CDs I ever bought (gosh, has it really been 26 years?!), and it's still one of my all-time favourite albums.  I don't think they ever quite matched it.

  • Big fan of Masters of Reality as well - I was big into death/thrash metal etc at the time but remember reading about that album in Kerrang (which was a decent enough read at this time) and giving it a punt based on that - loved it then and it still holds up today as well imo

The Blue Garden album was released in the CD era, to be fair!  :P

I remember those first couple of years not everything came out on CD, I was still buying a lot of things on vinyl, then getting the CD later.

And yes, Kerrang!  I bought it from the first issue and carried on for many years, up until it started being dominated by coverage of pop-punk bands.  I didn't feel like there was anything for me by that stage.

Not massively Doomy, but it's in that ballpark (think more Candlemass) and I frigging love this band.
