Selling my circa 2001 Fender Custom Shop 1969 Closet Classic from the time machine series.

Guitar is in Excellent condition for a 20 yr old guitar just one ding (pictured) and frets 99% new.

This has checking as per the CC Spec vintage radius, and no reverse wound middle pickup just like in 69 pickups are the Abigail Yberra 69 custom shop.

  • Do you know if the pickups are signed Abby or AY?

Lovely guitar, not for me atm but people are buying these specifically for the Abby pups and banging them on ebay for 500-600 or more nowadays.

    Good luck with your sale.

Pickups are signed ay as where most of the early time machine series. On the 69 model. Abby signed are usually aftermarket pickups sold seperately.

That is a Beautiful guitar . . . I have a 1997 62 AVRI Stratocaster which is a great guitar but I'd love a Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster at some point . . . What sort of profile has the neck ??
Id just like to point out that, despite all the video and DNA evidence, it genuinely wasn't me, your Honour  !

It's a u shape i beleive. Maple cap on a maple neck.    Had a quick play on it yesterday. Killer.

Tuned to e flat at the moment. But can set it up for standard with a set of jimi guage pyramids.

Good to see they followed the original spec 're the maple capped neck. From late 68 to 69 fender didn't offer a one piece maple neck and a rosewood board was standard but a maple cap board was made available as a special order option at extra cost. I have an original 69 hardtail with the maple cap board and because the truss rod is laid in from the top there's no skunk stripe (which I'm assuming is the same on the CS 69s)
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Yes it is true to 69 spec.

Just like jimis band of gypsys and gilmours pompei stratocasters.

Original 69 wow enjoy. Love the maple capped necks.

    Best wishes.
