Yeah well this is the thing, it's just disappointment more than anything. If I lend someone some money it's because I appreciate it's a small amount for me but it might mean the world to someone else.
I've given it to them in the knowledge that its helping, and if I don't get it back it doesn't matter. However I would much rather the reason I don't get it back is because they can't afford but they're still grateful. When someone throws it back in my face it just makes me feel daft, and then I don't want to help people in future.

Hmmmmm… that said whatsapp earlier next to his number…

I wonder if the threat of dick pics has caused WhatsApp to be deleted?  =)

Suspect he's reading this thread and reacting in real time like a badly programmed Skynet that can't deliver on it's promises.

I like this testimonial on IEG's website.  The final sentence says it all:

"Wow, Ian! What can I say to do justice to this amazing machine? It’s wood, metal and a whole lot of wizardry. It’s so good I’m actually having a hard time putting it down. I want to use words like articulate and resonant like all the posh reviewers in magazines. It’s all those things, and more. But most of all, it rocks. Hard! I love it and the neck carve is perfect. Thank you!

Now if only I knew how to play…"

Looks like another fretboarder has commented on his posts. How long before he deletes and bans those too.

Surely there is something more permanent that can be done to stop him scamming others?

I'm late to this, so has he been successfully selling guitars since his failed 2015 kickstarter?

    1985 - 1995 Bradford Grammar School
    1996 - 1999 University of East Anglia
    2000 - 2015 Semi-professional guitarist
    2000 - 2015 Guitar Teacher
    2004 - 2010 Guitar Retail
    2009 - 2012 Luthiery Course and Apprenticeship

If the quality is as bad as people say, I'm curious where he learnt his skills? His bio on kickstarter states he did an apprenticeship?

    This whole thing is mad.

I feel bad for @spark240 who done a good thing and shouldn’t get ripped off. I wouldn’t have done it, because I don’t lend money to people I don’t know, and you have to be cautious. But the blame lies with the builder guy if the story is as it's states.

Sell it for parts if you get nowhere mate.

I think the whole episode is really sad.  Seems like the guy started out with good intentions, but the road to perdition is paved with them.  Now his reputation is down in the sludge and he has a trail of unhappy punters.  A forum like this is pretty unforgiving (and rightly so) but it's still a sorry tale.  D'oh.

Indeed....I think he has some genuine issues and desperation forces bad decisions.

He worked in a guitar shop for 6 years so it's no surprise he's a bit of a tosspot.

But he’s our tosspot. He isn’t really :)
