Death by Audio Apocalypse

I saw that JHS "who is Death By Audio?" YouTube video recently, and Mr. DbA was saying it's possible to use the Apocalypse as a DI, like a twisted amp sim kinda thing. I can't find any clips of it being used like that, has anyone got one? How's it sound?
