If you interrupt the "collector" wire between the two poles of the selector switch, it is possible to direct the signal from each pickup to the appropriate half of a dual-ganged 250/500k stacked pot.
The signals are combined by linking the centre terminals of the ganged pots.
I’ve been pondering the same question…Paul in the link above has done a great job of demonstrating
Either that or use 500K pots and simply add a 470K resistor to the bridge pickup so it sees a roughly 250K load.
