It took me a long time to realise what I dont like a bout Teles, the ”standard” pickups, they just dont do it for me, so mine have replacements, Two with Lil 59’s at the bridge and the latest, finished today which is all Rosewood with Creamery Tele size P90’s.

Stranger from another planet welcome to our hole - Just strap on your guitar and we'll play some rock 'n' roll

  • Had my MiM Classic 50's Tele for 18 years (from brand new) and it has been my number one gigging guitar for most of that time.
It's definitely more "me" than the Strat I have been playing of late, even more so my LP Studio, which I like but don't love.

Only problem is the fact it is in dire need of a refret. Seriously unplayable at present, hence why my Strat has muscled in on the action.

Anyway, MiM Tele, 2003 ...£450 at the time, I believe...Nothing fancy or exclusive or Custom Shop or whatever...just a reliable, in-tune-unless-you-bounce-it-down-the-side-of-a-cliff workhorse. And wasn't that the whole point of the Tele?!

Sounds like a Tele, looks like a Tele. The whole idea of spending thousands on a Tele totally baffles me.

The nicest I ever played was a Cabronita in Coda. £3k+, if I recall correctly. Neck like a baseball bat after one too many Krispy Kremes. Played nicely, sounded great....but not really in a strictly Tele-ish way.

    I love my Tele!

No mention of G&L USA ASAT Teles, really quality instruments imho. Have around 6 or 7 and they are all different.

I love everything about teles, apart from the fact it's like playing an ironing board. Having been brought up on strats, I need some body contours.

My 2020 Roadworn is now my most played guitar, the one I pick up for a quick play.

I’m on / off with Tele’s but have concluded that one should always be around.

  • Just took this photo and found it funny so I thought I’d share; *subtly* different neck profiles on my pair (!)

Left is an AO 70s Tele Custom, Right is a CS 70th Anniversary Broadcaster.

    Oddly, both are really comfortable.

Crikey!  That neck isn't so much a baseball bat as a fence post!

  • I assembled mine from a GSPBASSES piece of woodworking. Turned out nice. Ultra light, quite pretty and sounds great with oil city pickups.

    I really like it, superlight!
Took me a while to figure out how you got that cool ‘angel wing’ effect on the pickguard
