Uk source for 1980s fender acoustic tuning pegs ?

What's Hot

 Hope pic works

I am looking  for replacement “rhombus” shaped tuning pegs to replace these on a 1980s Fender F3 acoustic

Any UK sellers does anyone know ? Ta

Stewmac have these which aren’t rhombus but have the screws in the same place, although the dimensions don’t exactly match mine, hence I am wary from buying something relatively cheap from US and paying import / shipping / VAT etc and they are the wrong size

    AllParts (don't) have them

You'd be better filling the holes and fitting better quality tuners. Just about any other tuner would be better quality

Thanks Steve, that might become a project then :)
in the meantime I might just take the one off that’s really “sticky” and see if it can be cleaned

  • I think I have a set of six somewhere from a similar vintage Yamaha acoustic. I am away this weekend but can look on Monday if you can wait. You can have them for free.

You can dismantle them completely, and if necessary replace the pinion gear if it's worn - I have a large selection of spares if you want to try that. Grease thoroughly and they do work OK, although as SteveRobinson said they're pretty much at the bottom of the quality range for tuners.
