What is best for a squeaky Wah pedal ? Lithium Grease or Silicon

Hi I have a Slash wah pedal I bought earlier in the year with an unexpected windfall
It’s so much better sounding than the old GCB95 I used to have .

Trouble is it has an annoying squeak . It may be coming from the plastic belt or the pivot point
Wonder if lithium or silicon is best . Didn’t want to use oil based stuff like wd40 owing to its propensity to rot certain plastics / rubber etc

im hoping it’s the belt mostly as o don’t fancy taking it to bits as it looks like the pivot is riveted when I’ve looked online . Not sure really

thanks

Never in over 50 years have I ever heard of WD-40 'rotting' anything! Anyway, you can get greases in aerosol cans and Lithium, Graphite or Moly will all work as well as silicone. Do not BTW ever use silicone lube on metal to metal mechanisms.

Haven't tried it myself but apparently castor oil doesn't rot rubber or plastics.

I thought petroleum based products rot rubber !
I used to use silicon on my metal detector gasket .
