Guitarist required for Scottish prog rock band Abel Ganz. 

Abel Ganz are looking for an excellent versatile guitarist, an accomplished lead guitar player who is happy to take the centre stage but able to sit back when the music requires. A guitarist who can play a blistering solo but equally comfortable and confident switching to acoustic. Experience of playing live and recording a must, with backing vocals being a big bonus. 

It is an exciting time for Abel Ganz with the recent release of our highly acclaimed album The Life Of The Honey Bee and Other Moments Of Clarity. The album has been our most successful release to date receiving great reviews and copies being sent all around the world. Going forward we have a couple of festivals booked for next year, a vinyl re-release of our previous album and are already putting together ideas for new recordings.

Musically the band are primarily progressive rock but with elements of folk, traditional celtic, jazz, rock, alt rock, metal, post rock, Americana even, and are really open to anything. 

Although we are all professional types with jobs and kids, we are very committed and would expect any new member to reflect that commitment. We rehearse twice a week in our own rehearsal space in Glasgow and sometimes more when recording or gigging. 

It's a great privilege to be invited to play good gigs and for people to buy our music and that is what we are in it for. No-one joins an originals band at our level for the money; indeed we plough earnings back into the band to produce the best recordings possible. Ideally, we are looking for someone whose prime motivation is to flex their creative muscle. A guitar player who is reliable, good gear, professional standard and attitude etc goes without saying also someone who writes or can contribute to writing. 

The band have been going for a long time and we can be described as vintage so this might best suit a mature player, but age is not really a factor.  In addition, we are all reasonably nice and normal and are looking for similar!
