Puma Blue - In Praise of Shadows
    St Vincent - Daddy's Home
Billie Eilish - Happier than Ever

That said, I think they are the only three new albums I have listened to this year, and I pretty much already knew I'd like them
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

It’s been a pretty good year I think, I’m listening to more new music than old for once.

    Blue weekend - Wolf Alice
    Solar Power - Lorde
Seventeen going under - Sam Fender
I don’t live hear anymore - The War on Drug
Trip the Witch - Trip the Witch
    Typhoons - Royal Blood
    Pure - Robben Ford

A few big disappointments though from John Mayer and Ben Howard (LOVED his previous two albums but the latest is unlistenable).

  • I think the only new album I've purchased in 2021 is Protest Songs by The Specials and that's a bit mixed.
I have, however, streamed the St Vincent one so happy to give a +1 to that.
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

    Manics - Ultra Vivid Lament
    Melvins - Five Legged Dog

Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert
    µ-Ziq - Scurlage

I'm a progger at heart, and my album of the year is also now one of my fave ever albums, Lifesigns - Altitude Beautiful music, sonically sounds amazing, and the song 'Last one home' has one of my favourite emotive guitar solos for many a year.

If anyone wants a taste, here's the album trailer. Wonderful Bass sounds!

Another should for Deafheaven's 'Infinite Granite', and Emma Ruth Rundle's 'Engine of Hell'. And of course, my own album 'Happy Places'

I think the only new music (released this year) I bought was Dinosaur Jr. - Sweep It Into Space.

    So probably that.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

  • Do EP's count?

A lot of great metal albums released in 2021, but a few EP's off an English label have come out with a few EP's I keep on revisiting more than anything else this .

So my albums of the year is a recommendation for Dry Cough records who have put out some gloriously nasty, filthy OSDM.

Hesitant to suggest this as it might make a certain someone insufferable   but it is genuinely the only new album I have bought this year.
    So, I nominate '
The World Inside' by our own Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster.
(The vinyl is a really good listen).
