Finally settled on something. I started off trying to do it in the style of Bernard Butler or Mike McCready but was getting nowhere. After many botched attempts I found myself doing a more of a War on Drugs tons of effects type of thing. 

American Standard Strat > Keeley Dark Side Fuzz then Flanger > Dod Rubberneck > Digitech Polara Plate Reverb > OBNE Whitecap Tremolo >  HX Stomp Brit Plexi Norm    (the delay-reverb and trem in the fx loop of the stomp)

A bit late to the party but I just sent one in. Glad I didn't listen to any of the others before attempting this one otherwise I might not have gone for it, top draw stuff this month. Sorry to @PickNick for accidentally plagiarising your use of festive spirit!

After a some (many) run throughs I got this down in a continuous take (minus the brief bit of harmony). Tone was tele bridge pickup --> Jan Ray --> Benson Germanium Fuzz --> DSM & Humbolt Simplifier --> Studio One (brought out all the overpriced, unjustified-by-my-skills toys for this one!) Inspiration was: Oh crap, the deadline's nearly up/let's forget trying to play so many notes and try to get it in the pocket, or at least more so than my last attempt. 

I also video'd this one, although the cinematography leaves a bit to be desired, my curtains seem to feature more heavily than I'd intended.

Just heard this and it’s really cool. I keep meaning to keep an eye on the competitions but forget. If I can find an hour, I’ll bang one in. Made the mistake of listening to @stratman3142 - nice and reminded me of Gilmour, to an extent. No bad thing, eh!

Go for it , it’s my second month and I’m really enjoying being involved now I can easily create a track on GarageBand. It’s really interesting listening to all the different approaches and I’m already looking forward to the next one .

@PickNick I'd be really chuffed if someone bootlegs my solo and gets $11 for it on eBay!
