Trying to emulate slide with the trem

A jam over a backing track trying to get a slide sound with the trem ....it's a rock blues type of thing

In the video, I hear a Jeff Beck type attack transient - especially when you play with finger(s) and thumb rather than plectrum.

For me, part of the characteristic of slide guitar comes from the use of metal, glass or ceramic rather than fretting digits. e.g. Duane Allman's intro figure on Layla is LH fingers. It sounds nothing like his Coridicine bottle slide tone.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

sounds great, reminiscent of Jeff Beck

I think it's hard to emulate slide

A couple of ideas for emulations:
    • bend trem down whilst doing glissando up (roughly keeping pitch constant), then you can release the trem to sound like a slide up
    • use the A chord triad in standard tuning and slide that up and down
Personally, I just get the lap steel out nowadays
