Gooseneck mic advice

Hey,

So I’m fed up tracking in the home studio and having to rely on a hand held mic to talk to singers in the booth (yes I don’t like those cheap podcaster boom arms) so I’ve been looking at an inexpensive gooseneck dynamic (the type you would plug directly into a console) which I plan to mount on my workstation by drilling out the top of the desk and then fitting a neutrik male to female plug and running it to my preamp. That way I can have the mic in front of me at all times. Behringer make one that fit the bill but they seem to be on back order everywhere. I was wondering if anyone has an alternative recommendation. As it’s a nice to have type item I don’t wanna spend the earth (maybe £35)

  • I'd have to search round my stuff but I think I have a gooseneck and a mounting flange which would let you use your existing mic. If you're interested, PM me.

  • Can you buy spares for a MicroKorg or Mininova? Both come with gooseneck mics for the vocoder stuff.

  • Spend a bit more and get a Rode PSA1. Bax Music usually cheapest.
