Cub supertop voicing

I have a laney cub supertop that I use to record with a reactive load and some IRs, and while I like a lot about it, it has overemphasised and slightly honky low mids and a lack of top end that I struggle to completely dial out despite trying various speaker IRs.

On the other hand all the user reviews I can find are glowing so I wonder what cab they are using or if it’s been designed to sound good at low volume at the expense of more typical situations ?

The older cubs sound great with a celestion V speaker. I really love the sound of mine. The supercub may be voiced slightly differently though.
