Pretty amazing, and I have never been a Jack White fan. I have tried, mostly in vain, to embrace his music over the years, but I really liked that track. Usually, I'm not too fond of highly synthesized music, but that was really good. It reminded me of some of the ways Prince used synthesizers. The video was visually disturbing in its own way, but a very effective piece of art. 

Jack White has come a long way from the raw shit he played in The White Stripes.

I'm more excited about the Fear of the Dawn one than the Entering Heaven Alive one as I like it more when it's full on intensity rock though I do appreciate the country stuff as well.

Interestingly I feel like these two tracks are the most White Stripes style sounding things he's done for a long time. It's interesting what a bit of polish can do.

There's a live rehearsal version of Taking Me Back as well which is cool. In this he's obviously got some of his band together but I think the original recording it's all him, though I could be wrong

I find the blue coloring all a bit too much. I get it as a concept, but whatever.

A new video dropped today for another song off the "rock" album, which he's said is a B Side of the song off the "quieter" album

The album is out today, and blimey it's intense. I like it (I would though, wouldn't I). A lot of very cool fuzz sounds that often aren't immediately clear if they are guitar or synth, or both. Interesting!

I think his daughter plays bass on that one. Most of the instruments are Jack himself but there are a few others adding bits here and there.

I think the White Raven is my pick so far

Listened to the song-by-song interview on Radio X on a long drive home last night and really enjoyed it. Some awesome guitar tones and riffs on that album! I haven't listened to Jack White for ages but going to have to go back through the catalogue too now.

So yesterday he released his album, played the national anthem with his band at the baseball season opening match at Detroit Tigers, played the first night of his tour, proposed to his girlfriend at the end of the main set, then actually got married after the encore as one of his Third Man Records partners is an ordained priest.

That's quite a productive day, I had work and cooked a couple of Quorn escalopes for tea, by comparison

Ha just seen this as I missed it earlier. Yes, basically that. Train fares plus accommodation plus higher ticket prices, meant I passed on it. I think they are putting live recordings of every night of the tour on nugs.net though it's not clear if that's just the American dates or the whole thing, but in any case that'll be my replacement so I can listen at home in comfort
