NUX Tape Core Deluxe

£59.99 from Amazon. I actually bought this when I couldn't find any more deals on an Xvive Echoman but this immediately is making me very happy.

Tape style delay with selector for variations on single or multi-head delays plus sound-on-sound option. Add to that it you can use a desktop editor and access more setting and save presets to the selector knob now it's like a mini Volante for next to nothing. Also has tap tempo for people that like that stuff. No idea if it's good or not though.

No idea why this hasn't been snapped up and talked about more. Sounds fantastic and the presets makes it amazing value.

Liking tape style delay is probably a prerequisite though.

    Very Re-20 alike.

    Yep very much so.

I think there's a 'vs' video of them together.

I really liked the RE-20 but I found the Echo volume never got loud enough for my taste - it set the repeats too low. Is the Nux similar volume-wise?

    Very good for Rockabilly....  ;)

Which is what I'm using a HOF 2 mini for atm.....but this could replace that for el-cheapo factor and it sounds great. And versatile too.... presets! MMMMM....

I play into a breaking up amp so have to have the mix down a bit otherwise it will overpower everything. Really doesn;t seem like an issue with this pedal.

I used to have one. Total bargain pedal for the cash. Stands up well against a lot of 'tape' style pedals - and better than most.

Only got rid of it when I upgraded to a Volante.

I recently bought one of theses used on tFB. Great fun to play with. Mine originally had the widely reported problem where every so often it would emit a loud CRACK, but updating the firmware fixed this.

Can you get to the modulation settings without connecting to PC?

Can you switch the presets via the exp plug?

I'll do more in depth testing once my family stops isolating at home but the modulation is present but pre-set in the existing tones already, but to alter it you need the app. Preset switching is via the knob - I THINK the ext is for delay time only. Might be wrong.

Yes I have used a DOD Mini expression pedal in this socket. When you alter the delay time with the pedal, it changes over the course of a few seconds like a mechanical tape delay would.

Ha ha! I briefly owned a Flashback but sold it after I realised all I wanted it to do was sound like a Carbon Copy.
