Squier Simon Neil. £400

The Simon Neil Stratocaster guitar puts Simon's own personal touch on a Squier Classic Vibe series instrument. Based on his Fender Custom Shop Time Machine; ‘60s Stratocaster guitar, features include an alder body finished in Fiesta Red, vintage-tint gloss maple neck, Simon's signature on the back of the headstock and the Biffy Clyro band logo on the front.

In order to meet Lee's demands and the technical nature of BMTH's music, the Epiphone Lee Malia Signature model features a raft of modern hardware and electronics.

With Gibson USA pickups, this guitar can deliver the distinctive hi-gain tone that Lee and the band are recognised for. With a Gibson 84T-LM humbucker in the bridge, designed specifically for Lee, this powerful pickup is capable of handling supreme levels of gain with no issues whatsoever. Providing a thick, saturated tone with a strong presence in the mid-range, this pickup lets you cut through the mix with huge, punchy riffs or soaring solos.

A P-94 pickup in the neck position offers higher output compared to most standard single-coil pickups, meaning you get more sustain and bite. This allows Lee to get a sweet clean tone when necessary, often complemented with chorus and delay effects commonly heard in his music. An ergnonomic "dummy coil" has been added underneath the scratchplate, forming an artificial humbucker that ensures that the neck pickup doesn't produce any unwanted hum.

A LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge offers brilliant stability and comfort, perfect for dishing out heavy palm-muted riffs. It's locking design ensures security when changing strings, and it's firm contact with the posts (fixed into the body wood) provides almost everlasting sustain.
