My insane mod project with a Casio MIDI guitar

I've had this odd instrument for ages, bought it a few years back on eBay for just £80. It's a Casio MG510 Strat-ish guitar made in Japan in the late 80s/early 90s and features an built-in guitar to MIDI converter.

Was the Casio hex pickup and MIDI converter circuitry fully operational before you removed it? If so, it might be worth offering those components to @HarrySeven ;

Looks like an interesting project. Have fun! I have the PG-310.  It's a nice guitar and I used to gig it back in the 90s, even using some of the built-in sounds (organ, flute and some synthy stuff). The MIDI electronics are stuffed now, sadly. I understand that the capacitors degrade over time.
