The 2022 Fantasy F1 Thread

It's here! By which I mean the thread is here. The fantasy league hasn't opened yet but hopefully this year will throw up some surprises so it won't be a dead loss for those of us who get it hopelessly wrong in the first 2 races

*** UPDATE 5 March ***

Start your engines!! 

Rules appear to be the same as last year. 100m budget, 6x drivers, 1x team. 1x Turbo Driver who gets x2 points, 2x Mega Driver per season who gets x3 points.

I haven't looked at the points scoring mechanism but I assume it's basically unchanged, so quali & race positions get points, finishing higher than you started gets points, and crashing loses you points.

K-Mag is confirmed back in at Haas, so I’m feeling good about grabbing that “mystery driver” while it was the cheapest on the grid. I assume it’ll cost more tomorrow!

I've done my teams.

I haven't thought of any suitably witty team names yet though. I'll have to work on that.

Funny names definitely get moral bonus points from me this year. Especially if they disparage Mr Horner. I'm liking Pedal to the Vettel, and ThumpingVerstappen  

I'm also calling K-Mag at 1m less than MickSchu a potential massive bargain.

I don't think we can just ignore what you do. A better strategy would be actively go against whatever you do.

Though imo I have the perfect teams that on paper should be the best. Of course I say that having completely flipped both teams around after this week's testing...
