Fingerboard wood

Torrefied / roasted maple is becoming  common on some newer builds for fingerboards and necks. The maple takes on a much deeper colour. Does anyone know whether the same process if applied to laurel would deepen the colour to that approaching a nice piece of rosewood instead of looking a bit pale and insipid ???

Not after it's been made into a fingerboard.

    You need to stain it.

Give Lewis or Andrew a call at DD's, now they're roasting their own wood they may well have already roasted some Laurel.
