Answers to questions...

> The Fret King has a 50s neck profile and not the slimmer 60s that they're normally associated with.
> The flame top on the Archtop is solid and everything else is laminate (latter for the top on the Smoked Custom)
> The tuners aren't wonky on the back of the Smoked Custom, that's just my photos.
> None of them require mods/upgrades, but I love the Benedetto PAF, so I would have put that in the Archtop over time.

I miss my 17" Peerless archtop so much, and yours looks fantastic, too

Thanks @carlos - The fit and finish on the Peerless stuff is wonderful and although I don't like the more recent stuff as much, it's still consistent. I think Peerless have discontinued now though, or maybe they're building on behalf of someone else.

I like the Monarch too, which was recommended to me, but I had to have a tone control and was sold on the Mairants' shiny chevron flame (the sun hid the stripes on the bass).

Thank you - I have another model of his and although I'm not a Tele fan, that one is beautiful for jazz. I think he was making Teles for quite a few years before FK.
