Wow what a turnaround. Fully deserved to win that as we played the better football. When we attack with a bit more intensity and play one-touch we can open up teams and it was good to see that today.

Or just lump it in the box and get someone to head it!
The trouble with Arsenal is they always try and walk it in.
Which is why we have our set pieces as a plan b. The frustrating thing for me to watch is when the pass is on and the player stops the ball and turns away from the attacking team mate and passes it sideward or backwards. We have Gyokeres now so crossing it first time wouldn't hurt as he can attack the ball. Martinelli's pace on the counter can stretch teams too.
I watched yesterday when Odergaard came on - The bulk of his passes were side ways - Reminded me of Butch Wilkins - Probably the world’s finest player for that
He did play a lovely pass inside the full-back for Lewis-Skelly but he took too long to cross it. Those kinda passes are what we want. Eze is probably the only other player who can do it and also turn and run at the defence.

But yes I think cos Odegaard's left footed on the right side he has to cut-back alot to get on his stronger foot whereas if he was two-footed he can play first time.
Agree about the nice slide rule pass for LS, but he needs to do it more often - Hard to know if it is his choice to ‘back off’ on such options, or Arteta’s instructions to maintain possession at all costs

He's the most advanced attacker in the midfield so should be doing this often yes. We've got Zubimendi to cover and Rice's recovery runs if he loses the ball because a pass is cut out.

Arteta's overcoaching esp with Martinelli is clear to see. When he first arrived he was this raw energetic teenager with no fear. Attacking full-backs and just playing with expression. Now his decision making is marred by erractic play and fear of losing possession and playing inside too much.

Now I’ve had overnight to calm down, I thought it was a brilliant game - proper blood and thunder high intensity football with no quarter given. Great advert for the Premier League. Arsenal, much like Barcelona, were a step ahead of us and Eze makes a big difference. I thought we played well, Thiaw had another great game and Nick Pope played a blinder until the last 10 minutes. I’m still on the fence about our Zwei Meter Dribblgott as I think he looks a bit sluggish but as long as he’s scoring he’ll get better.
Can’t believe we are where we are in the league because we haven’t had a really bad game yet so I’m not too concerned. We’ve still got Wissa to come in. We need to step it up though…

"I always win something in my second season"

Unfortunately on this occasion, he means "a game"
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,  a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Good to see the boss managing the fixture schedule well by rotating the squad. Overuse of Saka and other players cost us last season.

Great to see the attack gel tonight for newcastle with the new signings. I thought we sucked the life out of the opposition and winning the game away with a clean sheet and 4 goals was more than expected.
Elanga, gordon and woltermade beginning to look a handful for anyone as a front 3 with massive contributions in the midfield. Wolte in particular showing zidane esque skills controlling, holding the ball up and playing in the wingers. Lovely flick for his goal.
Watching barca psg, but good luck to rest of UK teams this evening.

    Dont worry, be silly.

Made a bit of work winning that one, should have won by a bigger scoreline seeing as we created so many chances.

Nice to see Odegaard finding Gyokeres and others in behind the defence often. I think we're starting to adapt our play to Gyokeres as we finally have a focal point in our attack to aim for.

Easy work in Belgium for Eddie Howe’s mighty Mags. Woltamade equalled Isak’s Champions League goal scoring record in just one game :-)

Haarland scored me 100 points just on his own this week in my fantasy team. How does he do such great work with such wonderful hair?

Nice little win for Carlisle tonight against Jeff Stelling FC. Squad looks way more capable than the last two results show, but will see come May.

I have him has captain so all points are doubled and also used my Goal Bonus booster where each goal was worth 9 points (Sun Dream team)

23 points first game / 27 points last night, then double it for captain/hair do

Is that the one where you pick from a squad of 15? If so I quite enjoyed that in the woman's euros (although the phrase Premier League says prolly not)

Can’t recall now who was asking why me and indeed a couple of other members were so anti Chris Wilder and portrayed him as a twat - I know @joneve and @thecolourbox box agreed that with me - So now read this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/crrjprk8d5jo - Maybe not as severe as the Cantona kick but not what you’d expect from any player or manager - Would expect to see a hefty ban for this
