What’s going on at Newcastle, even without Isak it is a decent team that should be doing better. Woltemade Is doing well but they can’t put together any kind of run.
It is worrying for us. I have to say not having Livramento on one side and Hall on the other is a huge problem.
Yeah, that wont help. Fixtures look fairly reasonable in November.  From memory you started pretty slow last year, so perhaps things will pick up.

  • Not a pretty win but got over the line. VAR overturning the penalty was a load of bollocks. Saka clearly fouled inside the box.

Before or after the defender touched the ball?

Surprised at your thoughts - VAR got it right IMO

Before obviously, that's why he fell over.

If the defender gets a slight touch on the ball but doesn’t significantly change its speed or trajectory, then takes the player out, are they in control of the ball ? Seems to me they have lunged in and failed to clear it before fouling the player that had it.
    Karma......

That all appears to me to be subjective - No wonder we can't agree between us if it was or wasn't a penalty - Ditto the ref and var - How much of the ball does he need to get ? - Surely it can't be measured to be more clear cut, hence subjective

Stunning goal for Reyes Cleary on his league debut for Barnsley yesterday against Bradford. Very satisfying to watch, and i enjoyed the keeper looking embarrassed then getting his foot stuck in the net too

    https://x.com/itvfootball/status/1979806218815160410

He was another Albion youth team player, at one point was linked with Dortmund, Bayern and i think PSG as "the next big thing" as he scored a shit load of goals for our pl2 team, but never really looked up to it on the first team so he left for Barnsley in the summer
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,  a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Sounds like Isak has got a point to prove today. In a pre-match interview he said that he's "gonna tear some ass"... :#

Oh, great. Romero crocked in the warmup. It's not a great omen.

It'd probably better if he tried to play football.

Or, "Romero not booked this afternoon" ...

Dire performance this afternoon, we played like an away team. I'm sure that the coaching staff must see something in Tel but whatever it is it doesn't make it from the training ground to the pitch.

Monaco away on Wednesday night. If they play like that we'll get walloped.

Is that right Liverpool spent more in the summer than any other club in history? And they go and get beat at home by this Utd side?

    Wow.

Get in! Unbeaten in the last three trips to Anfield. Couldn't for a better result than a late winner from super Harry Maguire!

    Wow.
Probably bit a bit distorted as they spent little/nothing the season before- As such a 2 year spending in one season

Isak was terrible, Slot should be starting with Ekitike.   Salah looks a shadow of himself last season.

Wirtz not even starting is crazy for a £120 million pound signing.

Great to beat them today but Liverpool stared the season on mainly luck, they do not look like a good team currently.

And Brighton will beat us next week……

Yeah fair does. I think they bought a couple of £100 million players though. I'm sure once they put them on the pitch no doubt Liverpool's luck will improve.
