Guehi to man city for a reported  20m, Toon offered 65m. Wow.
£20m seems peanuts in todays market.

In other news, Glasner to leave Palace at the end of the season.

Can’t blame him for going to City but that’s abysmal business from Palace. They’ve basically chucked away 45 million for the sake of keeping him for 4 months.

Maybe he turned down the move to Newcastle. The player has a say too.

I said the same when they sacked Amorim.  I think he'll certainly be a contender, but there may be a few big names free at the end of the season and after the World Cup, they should be keeping their options open.

Maybe its a sign of rewarding a gentleman of the sport, who didnt go on strike, throw his toys out of the pram when others did so at back end of the summer. I hope thats the case. I do like palace as a club in recent years. When they drubbed my NUFC last season, i was first to congratulate them on a stellar performance.
    Dont worry, be silly.

I’m sure he did. No ill feeling towards him at all. He handled everything the right way unlike other players I could mention.

Our first match with our new manager this evening (West Brom). Unfortunately my only summary of the match afterwards was "same shit, new shovel".

Can't judge the new bloke yet of course, I'm sure he's aware he won't fix this mess overnight and will be more interesting to see what develops over the coming months

Wigan - The team that has probably had more days out at Wembley than any other team

I didn't watch it live as I was on my way back from London.. he seems like he's changed too much from the off, but there were some good bits too. Hopefully he's got the chops to back up his media training. Fwiw I'm fairly hopeful, although I was pretty hopeful last time. Pfft.. I know nothing.

It's not a lot but apparently he'll be on around £300k a week which puts him top 10 in earners.  There's only really City who would have paid that now.

Yes I would emphasise it wasn't a sleight on the new manager at all. To have none of your first three central midfielders available, and to have inherited a defence made of butter and a sweet of goalkeepers who rarely stop a shot on target, is not a great start to his new job with only a couple of training sessions. He very quickly learnt that Johnstone is never going to be a wing back, which is a good sign (although I'm not sure why he thought he could be in the first place), so I'm sure he won't have missed that Phillips, Taylor and Mepham are not performing so will be interesting to see what he does about that.

I chuckled at your media training comment. He's definitely put a lot of effort into trying to look the part hasn't he. Hopefully he's put more effort into doing it and not just dressing himself from the Next Directory for the socials!

Full credit to Man U - a fully deserved team effort- is it a new era or a one off then only time will tell- But a great team effort

Off course the negative is they’ve just helped Arsenal win the title

On another note and this might sound like a negative towards Man U and it isn’t - But what a piss poor effort by Man City - chance to get with in 3 points and it might be 9 within 6/7 hours

Clueless, pointless lack of any proactive work in/around the box - It must be a Pep directive to keep possession and not pass or cross the ball into the box- I can’t recall seeing such a boring bland City as this  - If it wasn’t for the keeper it could well have been 6 nil, at least - That was Crap !!!!!!!!!!!

Manure - I watched that with my son who is a soft non-fan Man U fan - no question they deserved to win totally different effort and performance everywhere.

I like watching City lose too.

They should have had 10 men though.  Some shocking on and off field officiating in that game - embarrassing

I think you are right, City were absolutely terrible.  Offered nothing other than possession.  I said a few pages ago they probably have the best attack in the league but they didn't show up today and they are a calamity at the back.
We had the ball in the net 5 times and Maguire should have scored, it should have been an absolute rout.

It's a good win, but with the players back I think Amorim may have had a similar result considering how poor City were.

New era? I don't think so, but a world away from Brighton last week and a rare day to enjoy.

We need to capitalise on the lack of fixtures now, but it gets harder next week with Arsenal away.....
