For sale is my Fender '62 Reissue MIJ 1987 STD-62, from the acclaimed Fujigen factory in Japan, in "Vintage White", though the colour presents more as "Butterscotch". Serial number is E713105.

Some will know what this guitar is about, but this was an era when Japanese Fenders were top quality instruments, often better then their USA counterparts. This one is no exception, as has many of the features you'd expect to see in a "proper" '62 reissue, such as the 6 screw trem, slab rosewood fingerboard, alnico pickups and truss rod adjuster at the heel end.

This guitar is unmolested, with original electronics and hardware, other than a new nut that was installed a few months ago and an additional tremolo spring. It plays superbly, with a nice low action and was professionally set up by Torbay Guitar Repairs at the same time as having the nut replaced (with a hand cut bone nut). The pickups are Alnico, as you can see from the pictures. The fingerboard has lovely rolled edges and the frets are in really good condition. The build quality on this guitar is superb, as are the tones. I've got it set up with Rotosound 10's and the bridge is currently "decked".

Condition-wise, it's by no means pristine and bares some battle scars. It won't appeal to anyone into mint, just out the box guitars. This one has had a life and is displaying just the right amount of patina for a 35 year old instrument. It's also by no means "heavily relic'd" either. There is one decent "ding" on the edge of the lower bout, plus a few other smaller ones. Nothing that affects playability at all.

It's a lovely instrument, but I'm concentrating on my bass playing now, so I'm letting it go to someone who will play it.

No daft offers please; this is priced to sell already. £725 plus postage & packing.

Comes with the original 80's gig bag.
