SOLD: Cort L500-O 12 fret OM Price drop

Looked for this for a few months before finding one. Lovely sound, very mellow yet the highs shine through. 

A 12 fret OM body, solid sitka spruce top, 3 piece rosewood and flame maple back. Grover tuners. Selling because after a year or so of talking about it, I am finally going for a fretless banjo and I mostly play my nylon guitars and this just sits in the office. 

45mm nut, 643mm scale. Bone nut, bone saddle. 

Absolute bargain.

Has a really nice action, too! Very playable guitar.

@mort ;What banjo are you getting? 4 or 5 string? Jazz, bluegrass or clawhammer?

5 string Fretless.  Been listening a lot to Rhiannon Giddens.

@mort ; so either bluegrass or clawhammer. The former has a resonator (back), the latter doesn't.



Be careful if you adjust the head tension. 
. It's a dangerous sport but if you have a bit of brave in you, a bit of daring, you can go ahead and try it.

Open back. Chose a renaissance head over calfskin for the moment.

@mort ; there's also Fibreskin heads, arguably as close as you can get (tone wise) if you object to using real calfskin.

Anyway, I'll let you concentrate on selling your guitar. PM me if you get stuck with the banjo

Another reason I like this guitar is that I dont have any slotted headstocks and they fascinate me. An unimportant reason but they just look very nice to me.

Love the look of that guitar and I'd go for it in a flash if I could get on with 12 frets. Not enough fretboard real estate for me which is why I sold the last one.

Also, if I were to put a pick up in it, it would nearly double the price.

A really nice buy for someone and Cort have a reputation for making out some outstanding guitars at not a lot of money.

Thanks for the comment. It is a great fingerpicking guitar, but the OM body really gives it some volume. Chords ring out nicely.

That’s a fair comment. However, I tend to use m0rt so wouldn’t have used mort when choosing a username. Hangover from computer game days.
